Questions

When will I be charged?

Not today. Your card is charged when your 7-day free trial ends, and we email you 3 days before that happens. Cancel during the trial and you pay nothing. The free trial is for first-time subscribers.

How do I cancel?

Any time, in a few clicks: open your account menu and choose Manage billing. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. You can also email support@groundswell.surf.

Can I get a refund?

Yes. EU customers can withdraw within 14 days of subscribing for a full refund. Annual plans can get a pro-rated refund in the first 30 days, and we review requests on monthly charges made in the last 7 days. Email support@groundswell.surf.

Why is it so much cheaper than other surf apps?

Groundswell is built by one independent developer on open ocean data, with no investors to pay back and no ads. We'd rather charge a fair price and keep you for years.

What does the free plan include?

The free plan is free forever, with no card: a 3-day forecast for any coast on earth, with wave height, swell, wind, tides and a surf-quality rating. Upgrade when you want to plan up to 10 days ahead.

Does Groundswell have surf cams?

No. Groundswell is a forecast, not a camera network. Instead of a live picture, you get the numbers behind every rating: hourly swell height, period and direction, wind, tides and water temperature, plus a 10-day outlook and swell history for planning trips.

Why not just check the buoy?

Buoys are great for what's arriving right now, and Groundswell shows the nearest NOAA buoy on spot pages where one is close by. But most breaks have no buoy nearby, and a buoy can't tell you what's coming tomorrow. Groundswell puts swell, wind and tides into one forecast for any spot, up to 10 days ahead.
